I can buy them at Aldi when I make a trip 30-60 minutes away.  I do not make the trip just for Gummies.

Ordered the Mini last week. The plan is to use it mainly with a 0.25 mm nozzle and keep the i3 MK3S with the 0.4 mm nozzle. The extra accuracy of 0.25 mm is great for some stuff, but not all. And changing all the time requires re-calibration too. The gummy bears are donated to other, apparently hungry people.

Having printers is not my main hobby, making things is :-).

I like the new Mini Prusa but I have certain doubts and I would have liked a slightly different design.

The doubts are about the stability of having only one column on the Z axis (although the extruder is much less heavy there will always be vibrations due to its movement) and also for using the Bowden system (as this system has indicated in another post may give problems with flexible filaments).

As for the design, for its size and design it would be easy to enclose it with transparent petg panels holding the Z axis column but the X motor cable makes it difficult.

I'm pretty sure Prusa Mini have the same issues with stability like MK3 does. That's why all the *aribo upgrades exist. The only question is how relevant is it on daily base prints. If the printer design is lightweight enough, then there shouldn't be any significant quality issues.

But I bet there will be unofficial upgrades available with second lead rods and better frame, so you can stand on it 😀

The arguments I've seen in favor of a cantilever design is that the reduced weight makes it less of an issue over a shorter (180mm) span. Using beefy 10mm rods X 2 should certainly help in this regard as you've noted. The light weight of the extruder and hotend -- something cheaper cantilever designs lack -- will also help.

and also for using the Bowden system (as this system has indicated in another post may give problems with flexible filaments).

The geared extruder should help with that. The Bowden tube doesn't look overly long and I'm sure is of high quality. It may be a bit more problematic than the direct drive, but I suspect Team Prusa have worked on this issue. If in doubt, just wait until a few reviews come in (making more room at the front of the line for those of stronger faith).

Cheers.. I was hoping that it showed some kind of extreme test.. I am not sure why Joseph says "testing its limits"? What exactly is this showing other than it printing?? Is it the speed?

I think the speed, accuracy and general stability. That was an early prototype. The comments are also informative. General consensus seems to be that the basic design is plenty sturdy. Of course, one can always wait to see some reviews before buying.

No.. i get it.. i am not looking for reassurance. I trust Prusa know what they are doing and have my Mini on order to complimemt my Mk3.

i was just intreaged by Jospehs comment where he said he was testing the limits.. so i just expected to see something else in the video.... not to worry.. it was still nice to see the little thing printing and cant wait to get mine.

After Y E A R S of watching 3D printers grow and evolve, finally bit the bullet and ordered a Mini .... OMG .... it's going to be an interesting learning curve for me. Excited as heck!
