@cmumford
It did change, it was set to "Ready for pickup" in order status because I selected local pickup. If it is shipped by courier it changes status accordingly.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
It's way too quiet over there. It would be nice just to know if they resumed production.

I'm tempted to order a mk3s instead ... the price difference isn't an issue but I want to buy the more future proof of the two machines. hmmmm

If you are look for a more capable machine, the MK3S is the right choice. The cheaper machine and will do most of that you need is the Mini.

That really sucks. I have a hard time seeing how they were able to surge so many and then go to so few. I assumed that a lot of the ones from the first couple of days that weren't marked as shipped were a reporting issue. Maybe those are real. Looking at the data, it would seem that the 14th was part of the initial surge. If you are early in the 14th, does that mean that others on the 14th might be a month out?
I also would like to point out that I have not received any email notifications on order status. Three months in and nothing- and missing the holidays for receipt. That is HORRIBLE service. Maybe their strategy is to make people search for the info.
If it wasn't for this community, I'd think that Prusa was running a Kickstarter scam.

I think the mini will do all of what I need except arrive in a timely fashion. Based on what I'm seeing with people's communication with support and support telling me my order might ship by the end of february I'm wondering if I want to wait that long.

The Mini doesn't hold long term advantage in future proofing over the i3 MK3s.
The Prusa i3 product line has had upgrades available for purchase so that you can bring your i3 printer up to the newest release.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Ordered an mk3s ... if the mk3s ships before my mini, I'll cancel my mini order lol

A MK3 and a Mini I think are complementary. When it comes to printers the old addage "Two is one, one is none" is appropriate. I'm getting a mini to complement my Mk3/MMU2 for when I want a simple print and especially to make spare parts.
Heck ordering right now a Mk3 and and a mini - get the Mk3 in now and when you get the mini in and running, you can get adventerous with the MK3 by adding an MMU or modify other ways to specialize it.

I think this was entirely predictable. Prusa likely locked down the electronics and 3D printed part designs long before the shipment start date. That gave them weeks, or possibly months, to print parts, test electronics, and box printers that were only waiting for firmware. They've now shipped all of those printers, and all the production bottlenecks (3D printing is slow even with 500+ printers, 100% testing takes time, etc.) have slowed shipments to a crawl. Combine that with the holiday shutdown, and the fact that they're still building and selling the MK3S, and you end up with a massive slowdown in shipments. I ordered on the 16th, and after seeing where this is headed I opted to cancel. I would be lucky to see the printer by early March, and I was able to find a deal on a used printer locally.

You should have received at least 2 e-mails from Prusa Research: "Order confirmed" and "Payment accepted". If you have received those, it's in their ERP and is being processed (you can check status if you log in to your account too). If not, check your spam folder just in case your e-mail provider was overzealous with spam filters.

No, it's not. It's just a small firm in the middle of Europe doing the best they can to satisfy big demand. They have their philosophy on manufacturing, and while it would be more convenient to satisfy instant gratification needs of today and shove all component and printer manufacturing to China, they refuse to do that for both flexibility in development and local economy support. Please be patient, you will get it, better and improved.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
just got off of chat.
they told me because i ordered on the 15th i will get my mini by end of Jan.
however, seeing that it took a month to go from start to charles, and i am farther away than start to charles...i find that very hard to believe
first printer. do want to print something for daily use and then some other stuff for prototyping.
is there really that big of a difference between a prusa and another printer? maybe not the place to ask but i really can't justify waiting longer.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
well i googled it. sound like faster quieter but i still don't believe them. may have to move states by the time it ships.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
It hardly depends on "another printer" and your budget. If you can't wait, pick something else which is available on the market.
