RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Sigh, although I can see the printer in my order queue, the number isn't in the spreadsheet. There are a bunch in the middle that don't have valid numbers 🙁
You need to manually add your order info to the spreadsheet as it not maintained by Prusa
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Well DHL is the worst shipper available. My printer was supposed to be delivered days ago and customer support is useless. I hope everyone else is having less problems.
Watch this:
500km from Prague, five days in the hands of DPD, and no confidence that they will succeed in getting the parcel into the right van.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
@bodo
That is the worst feeling. Was waiting on a package one time, tracking showed it at my local post office, checked later, and it had been sent to another state.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
@bodo
Time to call them and ask them WTF!!
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
WTF indeed. Their support is not as good as PR's - they are not available after 18:00h.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Can some repost the Google spreadsheet link and info on how I can find my order status?
Sure thing:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cEUO-8AQevqBbD37C25bSPWbb3Lpk6q_-WZuZ0HOIOY/edit#gid=0
Why does the spreadsheet only show order from oct - nov?
Concur - 12th almost complete.

OK, got mine 🙂 Assembled and printing a tree frog right now. I would update the spreadsheet but my entry disappeared, probably accidentally removed by someone. I ordered on the 12th shortly after the announcement. This thing is so cute and I already love the little thing. Filament loading is way better and more confident than I expected for a bowden printer.

You have an extra! how about sharing?
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Well, my Mini arrived and guess what? It is damaged just like Pingu's. The control box has suffered impact and has broken.
The packaging was in perfect condition though and showed no signs of damage. I suspect the cardboard may be a bit tight around the control box and when the carriers throw the parcel down it crushes the control housing. Suspicious that more than one has suffered the same kind of damage to the same part so something common is going on. Notably there were no FRAGILE stickers on the outside of the parcel.
I will be talking with support about this shortly, I also note that my printer has been assembled with the heatblock at 45 degrees instead of square and the yellow warning sticker that goes on all Prusa's is missing. I get the feeling that production may be rushing possibly a bit too much too meet the deadlines or new staff are not working to the normal Prusa standard.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
My Mini came in yesterday and I wanted to share a few things to watch out for.
1. All of my foam feet were bent up and dented, one folded in half even. Not to bad though, after some straightening, the printer sits level.
2. X-axis was too loose. This caused a clicking noise when moving the extruder assembly. - Solution: tighten it.
3. Y-axis was too tight. This caused a very unpleasing grinding sound when moving. - Solution: loosen it.
4. MINDA was too high and dug allowed the extruder to dig into my build plate leaving dents during calibration. I lowered the MINDA to the height of 1 credit card. This one is quite important to pay attention to!
5. Cables seem too short, the ones going into the extruder assembly. - Unsolved: slightly improved the problem by pulling more of the cable bundle up through the zip ties.
6. Random FW bugs require me to reset the printer. However, never during an actual print.
7. Loading filament can be tricky and may not pull enough in requiring a few purges. - Solution: be sure to quickly and firmly insert the filament up to the point the printer grabs it and takes over.
8. Print speed, print quality, and printer noise level are all great!

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
this part can easily be reprinted with 0.6 noozle at 0.35 layerhigt. but its painfull to get the nuts out the plastic of the old part. had to cut it with the pliers and hurt myself with bleading... but i could wear gloves
please build your printer and test print it. im not shure whats the issue by mine printer, but i think the plate between your broken base and the z axis extrusion may be bend due shipping. i have massive problems with first layer. just curious if its bendet something or something is missaligned due to my total teardwon. but i dont think so, i carfully reasembled it and measured everething
because of the first layer looking and thinking about it ( front right: way to near to the bed, back left no adheision to bed, way to high) i bended the assembled printer with carfully, but massive force on the z axis backwards. that helped very much
i guess the firmware ist buggy with mesh bed leveling, also.
but its printing. here with my custom front plate 🙂
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
I’m going to build my first one now. Wish me luck.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
the just 4 screws are not challenging 😉
adust your MINDA just before puting it on.

Love the custom front plate 🙂
Spoken with support who are shipping me replacement part and notifying QC about the issues. Thanks for the print info, I will probably go that route so I can get going and test out operation as I'm not sure if the board was damaged when the housing broke of course.
I'll report back anything relevant here after assembly and testing.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
If Prusa offered the Mini as a kit, I would have 100% chosen that over a prebuilt printer. Not only do I enjoy putting things together, I think it would have saved me some problems fixing things because of someone else's errors.
I might just take it apart so I can put it back together.

Mine certainly has issues I would not accept if I built it. I may just go that route too.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Even if its only 60 bucks cheaper i would prefer selb building kit like mk3. Same reason. I enjoy the build and know exactly how it works and where to look for errors
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
On another note, i am now starting to see 'shipped' around me in the spreadsheet.
Hoping to get an email very soon !! 😀
