Notice it seems they're officially doing a 2-step filament warmup: 170C before mesh bed leveling, then up to full temp.

Yeah, that's rather neat. Other things I have noticed so far:

  • No power loss protection - but that was written in announcement blog post, it will come later with FW update
  • No XYZ calibration for frame skew - not sure if that's because it's not needed due to construction, or not implemented yet. Points for induction probe are on heatbed.
  • There is this initial confusion as to which button is highlighted on display - the white one or the blue one?
  • 9 gummy bears. Manual clearly documents and requires 10. Should we ask to ship one extra mini bear as part of warranty claim? 🤔

So, things noted so far as well as the two step filament heating - no xyz calibration, no crash detect, no power panic

Edit - crawlerin and I posted at the same time 🙂

Oooh, network connectivity with webpage. Really barebones ATM, reads temperatures, almost everything is "Under contruction". There will be tab "Account" - will this link to Prusa account?

That reminds me, I will need to put it into IPv6-only VLAN to see what it does 🤣

woundering if the rods on the free hanging end are threaded and screwed to the pritned part. well, if thinking about it, thats the only posibility for its rigidty.

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

Congrats Gary. I assume it will arrive Monday.

We should talk about some positives too.

- mk3 bed plate ‘compatibility’.
- Filament awareness

- handled ninjaflex very well. Honestly on par with my mk3 experience.
- Very quiet.
- beautiful screen. Yes, very first prompt was confusing to which is highlighted.

And some things not mentioned

- filament loading first time was different. Needs more shove than mk3.
- Ninjaflex didnt fully unload first time

- unloading filament leaves the heater on. (Not in video)

- loading filament if it fails for first layer calibration on initial setup only gave one retry and no option for more (reset needed)

if anyone wants me to try anything else let me know.

YES - here is my wish: Please send your printer to me - you can have mine - will come in January! 😉

Reading through the reviews, I hope they will put major efforts on bug fixing!

Best regards,

There are reviews already posted?

Yes the firmware looks a bit undercooked, but in general, is it safe to say that printer does its job? Would complete newb buying this printer be able to set it up and get going?

BTW how was the Buddy print? IIRC speed was turned up to like 200% and it handled it well. I am glad to hear that it works with ninjaflex too.

@phr0ze

Thankyou for the updates - really pleased to hear that flexibles are OK.

Did I see that some 240V and Filament Sensor builds are now being shipped ?

I can't figure why some have shipped over others.  Looks like the sensors are shipping.

@Charles-h13

Always happens with a major ship. They never follow the order number sequence, probably related to how ready each kit is to ship.

Both outliers are orders from the 13th, both are black, both have no filament sensor.

Maybe a case of having no Filament-Sensors at hand, and only black printers, but the need to empty the packing table in order to continue with the next batch?

None of the orders in our wait list have this configuration after the last order shipped from the 12th.
