I ordered one as a second printer. I've had an MK3 for a year now. I am hoping for a nice little PLA/PETG machine so I can start fiddling with other things on the MK3. It will be nice to be able to print things I break.

Is this wifi module the one mentioned in the video?  https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13678

Assuming the software would support it, you would plug this into the new board and get wifi connectivity, correct?

That would be awesome if the WIFI module is the same.  A US supplier would be great..

I ordered one within 30 minutes of the announcement. Somewhere in the blurb on the Mini I'm sure I saw it mentioned that the wifi module is a standard one. I shall start looking!

Re the wifi board, from the blog post -

"the Wi-Fi will use a small cheap ESP board you can source yourself from any good electronics shop"

So it may indeed be just a variation of the one listed.

I have ordered one. It will be my first 3d printer, I was going for a 3ks but im saving for a house and the currency conversion rate is not favourable for that. So the mini will do the job just nicely.

Good catch.  I ordered one.  

Looks like an old ESP8266-01. Very limited, and a pain in the backside to program. I hope they're not just using it as a wireless serial interface.

Surprised they'd use a module that old and limiting. Even newer ESP8266 modules cost pennies more.

Going to keep my Octoprint setup ready.

So for those of you willing to drop a few bills into Prusa's piggy bank and let it sit there for some indefinite period of time; what is Prusa telling you for ship dates when you ordered?

I'm OK with waiting after payment for high demand items. Nobody's making me do it, and Prusa delivers. Getting one sooner may well be worth it. I'm borderline on ordering myself, but should probably wait until next year.

BINGO.  I don’t get the anger at waiting.  Prusa is not Apple or Microsoft, they need to build up capital with new products.  It is actually a genius of a business model.

I can't wait for the influx of new lower end users to start asking "how do I do this" on the forum pages.  

As for waiting, I am not against waiting, but the idea of paying then waiting is just wrong.  If it were a Go Fund Me and treated as such, then it'd be different; but Prusa is a business, not a Go Fund Me project.  They should act like it: take an order, then charge your account when shipped.

ps: if they take a deposit to hold your place in line, that is okay, but 100%? No thank you.

No one is holding a gun to your hear and forcing your to buy a Prusa or pay ahead of time.  Feel free to wait a little longer.

I ordered one today. I broke my “no pre-orders” rule, maybe I can get away with it this time as this is hardware and not a video game? Printer looks solid, there are no obvious red flags, just expecting teething pains coming from new platform.

Not directly, bought and built one for my dad’s birthday, though currently I use it more than him if I am at parent’s house. I want one for myself, it still feels a bit remote.
