Thermal paste
Is it possible to use other thermal paste than the one from Prusa eshop, or expensive boron nitride from Slice Engineering? I have TIMs (Thermal Interface Materials) used between CPU and its cooler, could those be used? Think Noctua NTH-1, Arctic Silver / MX4, Thermal Grizzly or similar. Or is there any difference between CPU TIMs and what Prusa offers in their shop?
Theoretically there could be higher temperature than for those used for CPU, but is it really? That part is to move heat away from heatsink, filament has to stay firm there else jams occur. Does anyone know what temperatures are there and if CPU thermal pastes can handle those? I recall there were pictures of thermal analysis for v6 block on this very sub-forum, I may have to find those and check.
I am talking about interface between heatbreak and heatsink, not what Slice uses for heater element and block.

The temps should never be higher than CPU thermal paste it rated for at the top of the heartbreak where it screws into the heatsink. Do not apply thermal paste at the bottom where the heartbreak screws into the heater block. I have used Arctic Silver CPU thermal paste without problems. There may be some paste better suited to lower temps, but I haven't found one.
The Slice boron nitride paste is handy if you want to put some on your thermistor and heater cartridge inside the heater block as it can ease future removal.
