Unless you are extremely careful in seating it, a sock can interfere with air flow and you get areas the fans can't cool properly.

Cheerio,

I would suggest a heater and a thermistor for the hot end, because these are easily damaged when you have a blob of doom... which is a right of passage.

Considering they're both out of stock it seems like a solid suggestion, thanks. I'll wait with my order until I can order them I think.

I don't know where you are located.

It would appear that e3d-Online have the parts that you need

https://e3d-online.com/search?q=prusa+specific

they are based in the UK.

E3D also have a list of resellers around the world.

the Prusa Specific parts are the correct length and have the correct connectors for the Prusa Printers.

regards Joan

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK

The cable lengths are not the same for the mini as the mk3. Prusa accidentally sent me the wrong ones and I had to splice in more wire to fit. They eventually sent me the right ones, but shipping to the US took a few days. You should get the mini specific parts. Prusa's prices are not that bad if you can put in a one order with one shipping charge. I typically order two rolls of filament plus smaller parts for the most effective shipping cost.

Regards,

Mark

If you're in the US, ParstBuilt stocks original Prusa parts at a reasonable price. They seem to have the heater, thermistor and hotend PTFE tube for the Mini in stock. I buy small parts orders from them when I'm trying to avoid the cost of international shipping from Prusa.
