I haven't seen any reviews of that hot end, but all hot ends that I have seen commented on here over the last four years have both positive negative comments. Many have abandoned such "upgrades" as they caused problems in certain situations. The mini is a finely tuned machine, especially now with Input Shaper. Anything different means you are on your own to tweak it for proper operation.

Because of competitive pressures, Prusa has finally been continuously updating and mostly improving their algorithms for the Mini. As they change things for the admittedly imperfect hot end, it may make things worse for something that is different. If you go for it, just expect it may be a science project. No matter what they advertise, I would not expect a hot end change to be plug and play. Unless the supplier provides continuous configuration updates in sync with Prusa's Firmware and Slicer updates, I would not expect perfection.

On the other hand, I have not seen anything bad said about the Bondtech extruder or it's clones. While it may not be absolutely necessary, it is not likely to break anything. If you feel a need to upgrade something, that is what I would go for.

For the Prusa hot end, definitely order spare hot end PTFE tubes and replace when needed. I consider them a maintenance item.

Regards,

Mark

No, the Bondtech extruder, the thing at the other end that pushes the filament with the gears, that is what seems universally praised. I have seen praise and complaints about the Bondtech hot end.

Sorry my mistake in reading your post mind was racing away,I shall keep few spare parts to hand as you recommend hotend plus tube.

Would you  have any advice on prints coming away from bed, I have read Elmer’s glue stick is a good for stopping this.

Thank for your time

What kind of filament are you printing with? The answers are all different. Some stick too well.

Prusa has extensive online guides:

https://help.prusa3d.com/category/material-guide_220

https://help.prusa3d.com/article/first-layer-issues_1804

Their website is very good and has lots of useful information. Pretty much every subject, usage and maintenance, is covered.

Regards,

Mark
