Printing minis with fdm, this is how it went so far!

If anyone wonder if  it is possible to print minis with the PrusaMini+, this is my first results with 0,1 layer hight with 0,25mm nozzle.
I am more than happy with the results!

That looks fantastic. Any tidbits you can share? Material used? Special settings that made a difference?

Just used Sunlu PLA+ (got it for 9$ per kg as new year deal), so nothing fancy and no extra drying even if it probbably might be good.

No real changes is done more than changing nozzle. Important though to make sure you are calibrated as good as possible. I still neeed to fiddle around with retractions and stuff since i have a bit of spiderwebbing, but it is so fine and easy to remove so i can´t be bothered at the moment.

- Z hight should always be priority to get right, use a big 1 layer square and try to lower nozzle after each 10 lines and see where you get best results.
- I also changed extrusion multiplier since it did´nt feed as much filament as it should.
- Also lowered temperature to 195 for the pla, way lower than recomended from SUNLU but gives least amount of webbing and still stick fine with layers.

Rest of settings are standard for Prusa 0,25 nozzle profile.

Trying 0,08mm layers now, it take ages but is really good result and don´t think I want to go down further since the extra time isn´t worth it while i have a backlog with things to print. =D

These huge wings take 20 hours with 0.08 layer hight.

No afterwork have been done to models more than removing support and some spiderwebbing with the hand. 😉

Those look great! Who needs resin, right?

Would probably be even better with resin, and to make the small normal 2,8 cm figures would go way faster if able to fill a whole plate. But being able to get the minis without all extra machines is so good!

It is hard to get the painting as good as on bought ones, but as long as you have them on arms lengths they are perfect! 😉
