One pla filament jamming (other filaments are fine)

I bought a bunch of new filament and there is one pla (it's just a light purple, zyltech, nothing special) and it is CONSTANTLY jamming. I have taken things apart, I have changed to a larger nozzle size (this briefly worked), I have ensured it's in a dry space but it always jams. I can literally unload the filament and swap in another (usually prusament or prusa pla) and things run totally fine afterwards. I really can't understand what is going wrong. I've tried changing the flow rates, temperatures, nozzles, retraction, and making sure the extruder is clean and gripping... but this filament just struggles. I checked with calipers that the diameter is consistent and it seems fine but I'm now just frustrated and avoiding using this filament.

Any new thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated since I wanted to make a gift for a friend using it.

Maybe there is a setting that needs tweaked further that I haven't messed with yet or the filament is just bad?

I've never used Zyltech, so I can't speak to its quality, but if I had a spool that was known to jam my printer I'd toss it in the trash and consider another source for filament.

It could just be a bad batch, maybe it picked up dust, or perhaps the mix of polymers is wrong.  Have you contacted Zyltech to see if they'll warranty it?

Cheers

I am having the exact same issue with a roll of eSun PLA+. Prusament PLA before running a print with eSun, no problems. Prusament PETG immediately after with NO changes or mods, no problems. Entire Tippee Tree print with 48 leaf pieces and 6 trunk pieces with Polymaker Polyterra in a variety of colors, no problem.

But eSun PLA+ jams right out of the gate. Will load and purge, but as soon as I run a print it jams and extruder starts clicking and sputtering.  I would love feedback.

Don't use eSun.

Seriously.  There are many brands of filament out there, use the one(s) your printer prefers.

If you're really determined to use it, look at the vendor recommendations, perhaps you need to up your temps or change your extrusion rate, there's a reason why there are so many filament profiles available in Prusa Slicer, while many filaments can use the same profile not all can.  I have a Mk3 2.5s and a Mini and I have filament that swaps nicely between them and others that will work in the Mk3 but not the Mini.

It's up to you, but for me I won't try to force using a roll of filament my printer doesn't like, clearing clogs and doing cold pulls, or having to disassemble part of my printer to because of a filament problem isn't worth it.

You’ll get no arguments from me on it not being worth it.  The only reason I even bought the eSun was because of the specific color and how it matched some items I needed to ‘coordinate’ with.  I have sourced some Atomic PETG PRO that is a close match and will be trying it when it arrives.  I’ll set the eSun aside for now, I will give it a whirl when my new MK3+ arrives this month just so I’m not wasting it, but first jam on the new printer and it will go in the recycling bin.

I had hoped someone had a better profile / setting (higher temp, different speed, etc) for eSun after experiencing problems so I didn’t have to wait the next few days on the Atomic to arrive.

Nice on the I3 MK3, I bought mine when the MK2 was the state of the art I3 and upgraded to the MK2.5s when the kit became available.  It's a workhorse and eats a lot of filament my Mini chokes on.

Good luck
