Mini slowly getting louder
My mini has been slowly getting louder over the last week of printing, starting from a very quiet background hum at first to a rather loud electronic buzz and a rattle. It only seems to do it when doing full speed infill along the diagonal. The first layer is almost silent, and the outlines are generally quiet, particularly when they are aligned with either the x or y axis. But the diagonal moves are getting louder and louder. What do I need to adjust to get it back to last week?
Thanks!
RE: Mini slowly getting louder
After playing with the speed during printing, I've found that if I turn it down to 80-85% the sound goes away. But that doesn't seem like the long term solution I'd like, and I'm concerned it will creep back in.
RE: Mini slowly getting louder
You might want to try recording a video of the problem and uploading it as it will help people diagnose it.
RE: Mini slowly getting louder
Ok, here's a video. If I turn the speed down to 80% during a print, it goes back to being nearly silent.
RE: Mini slowly getting louder
The buzz during the full speed infill/perimeters of bigger objects sounds kinda normal to me. I had the same noise from the start. The rattle is something I don't have. And based on the video it only rattles when the printhead is fully to the right or the bed is fully in the front, since both happen simultaneously it's hard to say which axis causes it.
Have you tried cleaning and greasing the rods?

RE: Mini slowly getting louder
It turns out there were two issues. The X axis belt was too tight and it's resonating with the bookcase its sitting on. Now I'm off to get a paver and some foam.
