RE: MINI enclosure? IKEA?
What is the practical maximum length for the cables in the MINI.
Asking as I am contemplating mounting the control box outside an enclosure and extending the cables.

@seth-f2
I have a MK3S I use exclusively for polycarbonate inside an insulated fire-resistant enclosure. I started with just the PSU outside but now have everything outside as the enclosure temp hovers around 50ºC. I estimate I added about 18 inches to all of the wires. I just spliced them - I did not use connectors. If I did it again I would make the wires longer so I could remove the printer more easily from the enclosure when it needs servicing. So at least in my case, 18 inches has created no issues at all.

@shrikestorm
Thanks, I will probably use connectors for ease of servicing.
RE: MINI enclosure? IKEA?
The idea of an easily de-mountable encloseure looks pretty attractive if PSU and Control box mounted outside enclosure.

I really would like to find a good enclosure. I have 5 printers and need 3 more enclosures.

The housing depends on the size and content. I would be interested to find suitable IKEA accessories.

I built it from standard parts you can order from many webshops that supply Aluminium profiles. The build is based on 2020 Al profiles 44cm cube. Walls are plexiglass i had cut in my local hardware shop.

Ah, it it the z axis motor? Wondering if I could rout a couple of mm out of the top of my Kallax cube to squeeze it in. If it’s too much I’ll probably put it under the lack enclosure.

That may be interesting.
Next printer from Prusa: Prusa MICRO. Designed to fit exactly into Kallax compartment. Ideal for schools, fit 16 printers into 1 4x4 Kallax shelf unit to have whole classroom covered.

and the upper cables aren't pinched, wenn it moves to the highest position?
because that's a tiny footprint, awesome 🙂

Alternatively, you can print plastic parts in PETG of any color you like (... or find).
