Got my first Prusa printer! Is the fan broken?
Hi all, I finally joined the Prusa Party! I got this Mini+ off eBay. It has come from an Etsy seller so I assumed it would have a few miles on the clock, but when I started doing my first print the fan sounds like this. Is it normal or are the bearings shot? Is there anything else I should be looking out for that might need replacing?
Thanks all

The fan what cools the print (not the hotend fan) is not of great quality. It is easy to replace (search for better. Watch the specs. You find threads on this forum about what to buy).
But before you do, try to put some oil on the axle of the fan:
- peel the sticker off, now you see the axle.
- drop some good thin oil on it. Not too much!!!. because that will go on your print. What is not good for attachemnt 😉
- put sticker back, and it will probably will less during some time.
We will do what we have always done. We will find hope in the impossible.

Yeah I noticed a replacement fan is getting 2/5 stars on Prusa website so I might look into a different model

I’ve gone through 2 of the ones from the Prusa website. When this one fails I will certainly look for a better option.

Yeah I noticed on their shop the fan has a 2/5 star rating and mysteriously the link to expand reviews doesn’t work..
