Gaps in print lines. Help!

I assembled a Prusa Mini kit and it was printing well for months and then suddenly it stopped printing filament. I took it apart and got it printing again, but now when I try to print it includes these gaps. I've tried adjusting the axis (see the test image above) but it hasn't helped. Please help!

RE: Gaps in print lines. Help!

Let's assume there's nothing wrong with the extruder and the hotend, and the axes are square. First thing I would do is clean the steel sheet with dish washing soap and lots of very hot water. I assume you also use 90+% isopropyl alcohol to clean the sheet between prints.

Next, run a first layer calibration. The one that's built in is "okay" but I would suggest you use something like

https://www.printables.com/prints/105404

that's easier to interpret and allows you to test 8 settings in one print.

Hopefully that takes care of the issue.

Other possible reasons:

* Partially clogged nozzle (->cold pull)

* Worn down small PTFE tube in hotend (unlikely after only a few months of use)

* Incorrect extruder settings (unlikely, given the sporadic nature of the gaps)
