First layer temperatures lower than the other layers ones?

Hi everyone, a noob question here. Looking at the various PETG filament settings in PrusaSlicer I see that nozzle temp for the first layer is usually 10° lower than the set temperature for the other layers; even the hotbed temp is 5° lower for the first layer.

Shouldn't be the opposite? Shouldn't be the temperatures higher for the first layer?

@ulrike-b

Thank you for your answer. Would you mind explain why?

Thank you.

PETG has a tendency to stick to the nearest hottest thing. It's therefore common to have the nozzle a bit cooler and the bed a bit hotter on the 1st layer to encourage it to stick to the bed and not the nozzle.
