Hi,

After years of successful hobby printing on my Mini I am making a piece of jewelry so want to as fine a print as possible.  I have inserted a nozzle of 0.2 even though the printer can only manage a 0.25 but it is all I have other than the regular 0.4.  I have found several issues.

1. The print settings tell me that the layer height cannot be greater than the nozzle size.  I have ensured this is not the case yet still get an error message (see attached).

2. The first layer calibaration prints some parts of the shape but the PLA fades to zero on certain parts of the pattern.

3. The filament coming out curls into almot tiny circular loops

Can anyone cast any light on these myriad issues?

The nozzle diameter and layer height can be manualy set as required in the slicer. A max. layer height of 0.75 x nozzle diameter is recommended (nozzle 0.2 = max. layer height 0.15mm). With small nozzle diameters it is very important that the print bed is flat and well leveled. The printing plate should also be free of dirt, dust and grease.
