Extension Cable ok?

Hello - I just got my printer two days ago Mini+. I am in Canada and want to set it up in the cupboard on a big sturdy surface where it won't be nudged and I can have the option to open the door when in use and close it when not in use to prevent dust.

However, obviously there is no wall plug in the cupboard so my question is:

Can I run an extension cable w/ maybe a surge protector feature or something to setup the printer in the cupboard or does it have to be plugged into the wall directly to function best/safely.

Thank you so much.

I don't see an issue with an extension lead on the mains side of the power supply.

Is the heat source (3D printer) within the cupboard likely to raise the temperature enough to cause heat creep with PLA?

I run mine with an extension bar with a built-in fuse. It also powers a light for the printer.

I also have a fire alarm on the ceiling though and a fire extinguisher nearby for my electronics bench.
