cheapish enclosure if you don't want to DIY

FWIW, I found a lack of cheap enclosure options (and didn't feel up to the DIY/plexiglass ones).. after some measurements I found that

3D Printer Enclosure for Bambu Lab A1 Mini

is a decent fit at a price which wasn't awesome, but I'd consider "good enough for now"..... I wanted to print ASA and contain the fumes and help stabilize the temps. Most others were way too tall.

I found that I could orient the Mini either direction.. and slightly prefer this direction (shown in the pic), but not ideal for zipper location.

You have to be really careful with these types of enclosures because there's absolutely no venting and it's very easy to get too hot and start deforming things on the printer since much of the parts are plastic.  If you search around the forum you'll find examples of it happening to people.

well @%#$^# ... thanks for the heads-up... wow...

for reference here is one such thread: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/english-forum-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/extruder-deformation-due-to-high-temp-in-the-enclusure/

if there is a Mini specific thread I'd appreciate it.. ie. some ppl seem to talk about re-printing certain parts in a material which won't be an issue... most of the hit results are about prints deforming.. not the printer itself 🙂

I looked at building my own, but when I saw the cost of acrylic sheets.... Prusa's own Mini enclosure was hard to beat.  Especially when it was first released at a discounted price.

Perhaps my prints are small, but I've never seen it overheating in there.   Although it does seem to warm up more quickly than the mk4s enclosure at work.  Smaller volume, I suppose.

dom.
