Can the Flash drive be removed while printing?

Can I remove the flash drive while printing is running on my Prusa Mini?

In other words, is the gcode file copied to the controller before starting? Or is the data is fetched from the flash drive?

Confirmed.  It is reading while printing.

flash drive

I have never tried, but I think the flash drive needs to stay in place.

By "confirmed" ...

do you mean that it's confirmed that you CANNOT remove the flash drive while printing?
I'm assuming so, but the language is a little odd to me, as the question was "Can I remove the flash drive while printing is running on my Prusa Mini?", and an answer of "confirmed" appears to say that you can ...

Confirmed or not confirmed? this is the question

Yes, sometimes language is not as well defined as math equations, yet it seems that while the printing is going on, the flash drive is being constantly read.

So it is confirmed I can't plug it out during the 3D printing time.

Ditto.  Same way with my 2 clones and my 3 Prusa Minis.

RE: Can the Flash drive be removed while printing?

Why is that? I know that on my Creality Ender 3 V3 SE filament printer, as soon as you plug the stick in, it copies the files to the machine and I can remove the stick.

I want to be able to remove it and get the next print ready to go. I ended up just buying a 6 pack of 2gig sticks on slAmazon (I meant to type it that way) for 12 bucks

RE: Can the Flash drive be removed while printing?

Because most Prusa printers do not have internal memory for storing gcode.

You can remove pendrive but it will probably abort print or asks for resume, or may also lead to data corruption on the pendrive if it is mounted in read/write mode.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
