Bad PETG prints after software upgrade

I recently upgraded from an early software version to the latest available.  PETG prints now have missing chunks at the top edge.  Is there a way to avoid what's in the picture

Is this with the same gcode as before?

Yes, the same GCode was used initially, but then I re-sliced thinking it would fix the issue (it didn't).

This is odd, as it only happens in the top layer on this specific print. I have been playing with temperature and flow rate, but nothing seems to work.

PLA prints look fine.  PETG is not (I have 2 spools of PETG) .  I dried the filament, but it didn't help.

What nozzle size and temperature are you printing at? The image of the side wall looks like you're underextruding based on the uneven ripple patterning.

RE:

One more thing, if you upgrade firmware then remember to upgrade also PrusaSlicer and check for the profile upgrades and redo your custom profiles.

I remember I had issue with few profiles in PrusaSlicer so I recreated them from scratch.

This was especially visible when bumping to firmware 6.x.x and PrusaSlicer 2.8.x
