Quick Connect for Bowden Tube into Nexruder?
Happy Camper here-just finished upgrading MK4 to MK4S + MMU3. Works great after tweaking filament sensors on both units.
Question - is there such a connection that allows the Bowden tube from the MMU3 to be easily removed from the Nextruder to allow the printer to run in non MMU mode (turn off MMU in MK4S “settings”)? Now I unscrew the Bowden tube fitting to do this. A quick connect for the Bowden tube would be awesome. I haven’t found such a fitting yet.

I only disconnect the tube from the fitting, leaving the fitting in nextruder. Have only done smaller prints so far, but works ok

This is how it should be done. The PTFE tube is already quick connect. There is no need to remove the fitting itself - just press the collet to remove the PTFE tube. Once done, push the PTFE tube back down into the fitting where the fitting will grab and hold in place. Simple.

foxrun3d - you the man. Exactly what I was looking for. Thx.

Regularly removing the bowden tube from the festo connectors on either the MMU or Nextruder is not a good idea as over time, the ends of the PTFE tube become distorted / damaged.
The use of the magnetic connector that FoxRun3D has referenced is by far the better solution. I use this setup when I want to print external to the MMU3 or when I use flexible filament and it has been 100% successful, with zero issues after plenty of single colour prints.
RE: Quick Connect for Bowden Tube into Nexruder?
If you don't have an MMU, why do you need a PTFE tube? I have an MK4, and filament feeding is fine without a PTFE tube. Anyway, the PTFE tube is simply a guide. The Nextruder is direct drive and does not need a Bowden tube.
I have an XL, and have the PTFE tube guide ends just hanging near the Nextruder and not connected with the couplings. Works better, easier to change filaments, and doesn't need any fancy couplings. The PTFE tubes are just filament guides anyway, not Bowden tubes. I am considering changing them out for 3mm tubes since I don't like the small tube size.

Anyway, the filament paths on the latest Prusa printers is excessively convoluted.

One of my MK4S' is used both with and without the MMU3, depending on my printing needs. The other MK4S is in the factory condition.
RE: Quick Connect for Bowden Tube into Nexruder?
I changed the Bowden tubes to 3mm ID for the MMU3 usage. The upstream end of the tubes are fed directly from three Eibos filament dryers in free axle rotation mode. I have not had any issues with the filament feed into the MMU and through either filament sensor (MMU and Nextruder).
RE: Quick Connect for Bowden Tube into Nexruder?
Those aren't Bowden tubes, they are filament guides. With filament guides, changing them to 3mm simply makes it easier to load filament. If they were really Bowden tubes, changing the size would make a world of difference.
In a Bowden extruder setup, the filament drive mechanism is separated from the actual hotend by an appropriately-sized PTFE tube. The drive mechanism pushes the filament into the hotend by way of the PTFE Bowden tube.

I was going to say "reverse bowden" since that is what it is generally called and no one else had settled on that phrase, but I prefer your term. 🤣
