What settings is Prusa using?

I'm printing out parts in PETG for the MK3s to MK4S upgrade, using Prusa's pre-made gcode.  In the 4 years I've had my MK3S, I've NEVER been able to get it to print as smoothly as what these files are producing, no matter what I fiddle with in the settings.    Can someone from PRUSA share the printer settings that are used in these gcode files so I can incorporate them into my PrusaSlicer settings for printing EVERYTHING?

Thanks!

RE: What settings is Prusa using?

You do realise that gcode files produced with Prusa slicer contain the settings in them ?  They are stored at the end of the file.  If you use File>Import>Import Config and select a saved gcode file PS will attempt to load the settings from it.  As you haven't linked to any files I can't check if that's the case with the ones you are talking about.

That's only part of the story though as you need to make sure your printer is sound and that you have the profiles tuned for the particular combination of printer and filament you are using.  Also keep in mind that settings that are good for one object might not be for a different object.  Prusa printed parts are probably highly optimised settings wise for those parts.

No, I do not speak gcode 😉 so I am not aware of its structure.  Thank you for that information and process...I will check it out.

The files I refer to are here:

And....evidently it doesn't matter what settings I use.   I imported the settings from the Prusa parts and tried printing out another STL, got nothing but  a stringy mess of PETG, which then gets stuck to the extruder, etc. and fails.

Just tried with one of the parts you linked to and yes it does load the settings so at least it was sliced with PS.

As for your description of a stringy mess, then that would imply that your first layer is not correctly set or your bed adhesion is otherwise problematic.

It doesn't matter what settings you use if you cant get filament to stick on the first layer.  Unfortunately that is not controlled by any setting in your filament profile but by carefully and fully cleaning the print sheet to make sure there are no oils or other residues remaining and by adjusting your Live Z value properly for that sheet and filament combo.  There are many many posts on the forums on how to correctly do both of those. Don't rely on IPA to fully remove oils from the print surface such as finger prints etc.

While I don't own a MK4 and I believe the process for setting the first layer is different for that printer to something like a MK3 I do believe it is possible to adjust it still from the posts I have read on here.

It sounds like you might be having wet filament. Look up "how to dry filament". You shouldn't need the exact settings used by Prusa in their factory to get good results, the default settings in the Prusa slicer are really good and already fine-tuned for both the Prusa printers and their filament.

RE:

I can't figure how it's a wet filament issue.  The same brand new roll that I printed all the upgrade parts with over the last 48 hours resulted in zero failed prints.  I print inside an insulated enclosure, and the spool is enclosed inside this.   The inside temperature of the enclosure was at around 38C, and very, very dry.   As soon as I finished up the printed parts I mentioned above, I cleaned the plate and I immediately tried to print another object and had nothing but issues.

I hadn't cleaned my bed in over a year...until today when I finished all those prints. Never had an adhesion issue before I cleaned it.  IPA 99.9% followed by washing it with detergent and distilled water, while wearing nitrile gloves,  and drying with mild heat.

I got it figured out.  After I imported the settings, I somehow must have changed printer type.  Instead of the MK3S+, it got switched to MK3S+MMU.  After a print would complete or fail, the printer would beep and then unload the filament.  I thought the filament was breaking!  I also didn't acknowledge that the printer was telling me that the file had been sliced for a different printer, so I went ahead and told it to print anyway.   I thought the printer was acting up and just needed a reboot, but that didn't fix that message either.  Only after going back and looking at the settings again did I realize I had somehow switched it.  I went and removed all old config files/drivers and redownloaded them, selected the correct printer and that fixed the issue.
