MK4S cannot print a good benchie
I'm sure the MK4 did its job better.
This is the result of a MK4S upgrade kit.
Nozzle 0.4
Settings: 0,20mm Structural MK4S

It sounds like something might be off after the MK4S upgrade. Have you tried recalibrating the first layer and checking extrusion flow? Also, make sure your nozzle and heat break are clean. A factory reset and reloading firmware settings might help too!

I tried it without 15% infill instead of 100% and that one looks much better.
Most objects I print must be 100% infill so it seems the MK4S has problems with this setting.
