Failing to print Silk Filaments (also Prusament PLA Viva La Bronze)
Hi all.
I have very bad layer adhesion with my PLAs on MK4S (nozzle is prusa HiFlow Obxsidian 0.4mm).
This is with original Prusament PLA Viva La Bronze (new roll) and happened also with Elgoo Silk Gold PLA.
Temps tested were ranging from 225 to 270.
Very little force had to be applied on the part to break.
Most printouts snapped during bed removal (smooth PEI sheet).
My PETGs and regular PLAs don't have this issue - I tested it in between the silk test prints (so no ambient temperature deviations).
Other than temperatures, all were default Prusament settings in PrusaSlicer (also tried Generic Silk filament preset).
I also tried to slow down printing manually on the printer to 50%, but all are exactly same results.
Prints look OK, but layer adhesion is terrible and break easily (bed adhesion is great).
I tried printing it on my MK3S (0,6mm Nozzle X) with Generic PLA profile and result was much better in terms of layer adhesion (not surface finish quality).
So I copied all the filament settings and print speed settings to MK4 and results were bit better but not that much.
I also tried with these new settings to slow down the print on the printer to 50%, but no improvement.
I'm trying to dry the filaments in the drier as per advise on FB forum.
Any tips how to print Silk on MK4S successfully?
Thanks a lot

Not necessary for foaming filament. That combination is tailored for *large* prints with abrasive filament.
How well does it print with a standard brass nozzle?
Cheerio,
RE: Failing to print Silk Filaments (also Prusament PLA Viva La Bronze)
I literally just finished a couple of prints a few minutes ago on my Mk4S's with Silk PLA, using the Generic PLA Silk settings, and they both came out nice. However, I'm using a regular Obxidian nozzle, not the HF version. I gave up on HF a few days after upgrading to Mk4S, just not worth the hassle for my uses.

I read an advise to turn down cooling on MK4S so I try that first and if still bad, I will switch nozzles.
Thanks for info @foxrun3d
