Weird clicking sound when unloading filament on MK4S

Hi,

I had 3 MK4 and upgraded all of them to MK4S.
Since the upgrade, I got a clicking/skipping noise when simply unloading the filament. The issue is over all my machines since the upgrade, and I had no issues before on the MK4.

The unloading is going successful, and I can pull out the filament. I have no printing issues either, but the sound is something that I haven't had before.
Changing the hardware is what caused it, but how and why..

One MK4S had a MMu unit on it, and you can hear it as well during the filament change sequence.

RE: Weird clicking sound when unloading filament on MK4S

Hello,

My MK4S also "clicks" while unloading.  The noise is the extruder "skipping" during the "ramming" operation that was introduced with the MK4 printer filament unload.  I suspect that the Hi Flow nozzle does not tolerate the ramming as readily as the conventional nozzle (tries to force the filament through 3 small paths to the tip versus the single path of the conventional nozzle).  I have had no issues with my printer and the "skipping" does not damage anything (except that it will potentially rub a small "notch" in the filament where the extruder gear slips).

Regards,

Steve
