Very unhelpful helpdeask
I just got off chat with "douglas" my printer is having issues with filament changeovers where it spews out a chunk of filament that poops onto the wipe tower. The chat is usually very helpful but today it was terrible. After being told it was my slice temps or my chamber being closed several times and then explaining that it happens regardless of those things "douglas" came up with a "quick test" " just quickly take the printer out of the enclosure for a test print!" He didnt seem to understand that it wasnt quick or easy to do that with the power supply and screen on the outside already. The chat basically ended with Douglas agreeing that i should get a chinese printer. U SUCK MATE. Printer not fixed and im left stranded. Customers waiting and these guys are terrible

regarding your issue, I know that problem, try to adjust your printer settings in the prusa slicer and change extra load distance like seen here:
with -58 the filament will load to nozzle when changing filament 6mm less and avoids to "poop" on wipe tower I also used -62mm fo a time, then really no poop happens.

By the way, if you are having issues with filament load/unlaoad or extrution on nextruder with MMU take a look for my developed nextruder idler mod:

RE: Very unhelpful helpdeask
Ill give that a try. Thanks mate.
RE: Very unhelpful helpdeask
Did the trick... your a legend buddy. Does anyone know why i need to run my printer hot to get it to run smoothly? 240 degrees on all pla for me or the filament gets stuck.
RE: Very unhelpful helpdeask
Not really?!?
I print PLA also with 195C depend on specs.
did it get stuck on filament change or at any time later?
if on filaments change, which filament was used before?
what happens if you print PETG or other? Do you also need higher temps as specified? If so, is the nozzle temp as expected if completely cooled down, to ensure that nothing is wrong with the temperature sensor
Which nozzle you are using?
Please also check detailed that the bearings in the lever are rotating, for this you should mark the bearing with pen, cause sometimes it feels and looks as a rotation but the bearing stuck, I observed that a few times, so I always mark the bearing on the side with a small spot to ensure when assembling a lever. (Btw. I did the a hundred times)
of course, a clear diagnostic isn’t easy from far away, but if other causes are eliminated, I assume it is the idler tension.
can you make a picture of your mounted idler?

RE: Very unhelpful helpdeask
Man u sound like a helpdesk person. It was a simple fix with the wipe tower setting. Helpdesk wanted me to try a million things that if they actually listened to me would of made no sense to them either. Told me it was the thermoster but I'd already replaced the whole hotend. Saying that removing the printer for the enclosure for a "quick test print" just indicated that the guy had no idea what that actually involved. Thanks tho.
It can be really tough working a help desk, especially when a user calls in already 'knowing' what's 'wrong' but complaining none-the-less about perfectly normal behaviour.
Cheerio,
RE: Very unhelpful helpdeask
Yeah I have had really good experiences with prusa chat until this one. If u have a problem that persists if u have the doors open or closed and they just will not move past it. And THEN suggest I pull the machine out of the enclosure just to REALLY rule out heat creep is IDIOTIC and showed the guy had little experience with the machines.
RE: Very unhelpful helpdeask
Im sorry man. I was very frustrated. I didnt meen to be an arsehole. I found the actual problem. It was 2 filament issues. I have a matte grey that just wont load at less than 240 degrees. It slips in the extruder and theres missing parts in the line on the wipe tower and it produces an error. the 2nd issue caused the poop. I had a filament that was brittle but only in certain sections. So it would load fine and run fine and then a brittle piece would snap in the extruder as it was unloading and leave a piece in there. Then when the next filamnet loaded it would push through the broken piece and produce a huge poop. It was hard to diagnose because of that. Sorry again and Ill be nicer from now on
RE: Very unhelpful helpdeask
Thanks mate. what material do u make these out of?
