Tried to update FW from 6.0.0 to 6.1.2, now can't print
I took the Prusa USB drive and connected to my MAC (M3 iMac). I copied the firmware to the drive and transferred the drive back to the MK4. Reset and the MK4 came up but did not update.
Then when I put the drive back on the Mac, it says the drive is unreadable and offers to reinitialize the drive. I don't yet.
I plug it back into the MK4. It seems to like it OK but still does not update. Now it won't print, or at least I cannot transfer files to it. I use PrusaLink and every time I try to upload a file to the printer it says the operation is forbidden. I go back and forth like this a few times.
I figure I screwed up the drive somehow and it needs to be reformatted. I am unsure exactly what format the MK4 can use. SO I "erase" the drive on the Mac and set the format to ExFAT, thinking that is an LCD. I copy the BFF file there. I plug it into MK4. I comes up and thinks it has a USB attached but still does not update.
What is the problem here and how do I get updated and back to printing?
And another Q. Is the USB th only local storage on the MK4 that can be used for print files?

USB is the only storage. MK4 supports USB2, but not USB3. Must be formated to FAT32, USB2 drive.

IMHO USB disk must be formated as FAT32.

Thanks, that did it. The FW update documentation should really mention the format of the usB stick. I looked for the information and could not find it.
