Prusa Connect (Mk4S) Firmware version 6.1.4 a bit early
Looking at Connect diectly through a brower, I look at the "settings" page, and I note that at this moment, it tells me "6.1.3+7898Version is outdated. Please upgrade to 6.1.4"
So, I visit the "Drivers and Firmware page on prusa3d.com under "Software" and find that the current release version of MK4S printer firmware remains 6.1.3
I dunno why Prusa keep foisting firmware onto us that's not yet ready for production use, but I suggest that Prusa stick strictly to the released versions on Prusa connect version checking. Either the firmware is ready or its not, and alpha versions should only be promoted to those participating in the test program. To do otherwise you risk sending out buggy code to 400,000 novuce users, who may choose to install it a mess up their print jobs with spurious bugs.
RE: Prusa Connect (Mk4S) Firmware version 6.1.4 a bit early
Looks like they haven't updated that Software/Downloads page in a while. The GitHub/releases page is a better source, and 6.14 was released almost a month ago.
That said, I've found using the firmware control drop-down on the Settings tab of Connect very easy to use. It downloads the appropriate file and triggers the install. It's a convenient way to switch between versions when troubleshooting, as well.

So the (minor) problem here is when I started my MK4-MK4S conversion the instructions talk about going to drivers and settings and pulling the latest firmware. I was like “oooh, I’m already on the latest firmware.” So I didn’t bother. Finished the upgrade, all calibrated and going to look for new stuff to print, and it’s like “WTF? New firmware.”
totally not a big deal, just kinda frustrating and annoying. If they’re getting sloppy there, where else?
When someone asks you if you're a god, you say, "YES!"

instructions talk about going to drivers and settings and pulling the latest firmware.
I've added a comment to that step with the GitHub link.
RE: Prusa Connect (Mk4S) Firmware version 6.1.4 a bit early
Yeah, OK I looked at what is to be found on Github concerning the 6.1.4 release, and it becomes clear.,
"This is a stable release of firmware 6.1.4 for the MK4S with MMU3. This update introduces a new feature primarily to support internal shipping needs, ensuring that the bundled printer and MMU3 unit is configured correctly out of the box. Users don’t need to install this update unless specifically advised, as it is intended mainly for manufacturing and shipping support without impacting regular printer functionality."
So, this would be why its published as a release on github, but not pushed through to the prusa website. Basically its not needed by 99.9% of users.
So, it has been picked up by Prusa Connect and we see this disparity as noted in my original observation.
Yep, it amounts to sloppiness. The change in this release should have been held back until the next release.
