My Mk4S died without any symptoms

. Hello. I've owned an MK4S enclosur for a year. (I also have a mini+ and MK3s). On Saturday, after printing a small part for a friend, I decided to print small enclosures on my way out of the office. This is my most frequently printed component, and the printer has NEVER made ANY error while printing. This morning, I saw something like this... I decided to turn on the heat to remove the accumulated PLA. Unfortunately, no luck. The filament had coated the printhead so heavily that it wouldn't budge. Then I used a heat gun, but it still wouldn't come off. This is what happened when I heated it more... I'm devastated. The printer has always worked well, and this was the most frequently printed item. The filament is also the same as usual. Now I see that its entire core needs replacing 🙁

Unfortunately, too high a temperature damaged other plastic elements...

RE: My Mk4S died without any symptoms

I had a very similar blob of death a couple of months back and I had equally similar success trying to remove it. Fortunately it’s a relatively cheap and straightforward repair, especially if you have some previous knowledge if you built the printer.
