MK4 Firmware

I have just come back to my MK4 after a long spell away. The firmware is 3.12.2. I updated the Slicer to the latest version which seems to be 2.9.4. Now the code produced from the Slicer is ' .bgcode' which my MK4 does not open.  Looking at old SD cards the code is all''.gcode'

What do I have to do now.

I did look at how to update the printer Firmware but it is talking about a USB which I do not have  - just a SD card slot. As effectively a beginner again I am lost Some help would be much appreciated

RE: MK4 Firmware

You can change each printer profile to use gcode one by one in Printers>General>Firmware>Supports binary G-code (red/expert setting) and saving it as a new printer profile but the easiest method if you want it to JUST output standard gcode is open up prusa slicer, go to Preferences (Cntrl+P), then go to the "Other" tab and untick the "Use binary G-code when the printer supports it" option.  Then OK the preferences.

Might have to restart Prusa Slicer, but once that is unticked , no more bgcode.

The USB port is on the upper right side of the screen housing. See attached picture. You need to download the latest firmware to a FAT32 formatted USB Stick and update your machine. Alternatively you can have the new Prusa Slicer save the file as a gcode file, instead of the bgcode file. Go to Printers - General - Firmware and uncheck the "Supports Binary gcode" box.

What are you talking about FW 3.12.2 on MK4? And about the SD card? Do you even have an MK4 printer? It seems to me that you have at most something from the MK3 family! The FW version would correspond to this, because even version 3.14.1 does not say anything about MK4. At least put a photo of the printer you are asking about.
