Heater testing, calibration fail

Having a really tough time. Finished upgrade 4 to 4s with no apparent problem, until temp calibration. the Heater test continually fails. (not the hot bed) I have silicon sock on and off in settings.

If I set the temp by hand it heats fin and holds temp. Any ideas?

Probably too late for you but might help others.

I just installed the upgrade and had the same issue. The sock setting did nothing but actually removing the sock physically allowed it to calibrate fine even with the sock setting to ON!

Not at all Stephen, I found a few posts suggesting a hot air gun (didn't work), Soldering iron (alas another fail) & finally my cooking blowtorch. It WORKED, finally got >168 oC

RE: Heater testing, calibration fail

Hi guys (specifically  Williams). After upgrade 4 ->4s I can not pass nozzle heater test. I believe I have checked everything (FM, cable connection, setting vs reality - all "combinations", ...) but no succes. So any idea what to do? Thanks.

"So, it’s finally resolved. I left the presence of the sock set to ON and physically removed it --> Heater calibration OK. Calibration passed, but... 🤔. Thanks.

I had to install my smooth sheet.  Would not pass with a textured sheet.

What a kafuffle, after lots of googling and forums, tried a heat gun (nope), soldering iron with hottest tip at max (still nope), small blow torch (honestly) SUCESS! great prints and very reliable.
