Can't add MK4S profile in Prusa Slicer

Hi Everyone,

I just finished building a MK4S kit, and I am very impressed with the new design. I have a 3-year-old MK3S that has been perfectly reliable since the day I built it, and I am a loyal Prusa fan.

The build went smoothly, and when I turned the machine on for the first time, setup and calibration went perfectly. The issue now is that I can't get PrusaSlicer to install the profile for this printer. When I click through the Configuration Wizard to add it, I am never given the option to select new printers. I get to the end of the Wizard, and the "finish" button is grayed out. If I try it a different way, and click the gear icon, then "Add/remove presets" it leads me down the same dead-end path. Am I missing something painfully obvious? I have tried uninstalling Slicer, deleting any folders that it leaves behind — but when I reinstall it, everything reappears exactly as it was, along with this same frustration.

Thank you for your help.

RE:

First make sure you are running the latest version of Prusaslicer - 2.8.1 I believe is the latest.

On the right panel where the printer is listed, click the dropdown and select Add/Remove Printers, then select Add/Remove Presets.

This will load the correct configuration wizard.

Click Next and Next (you don't need to log in) and on the Configuration Sources page select the option for 'Prusa FFF Printers'. Click Next.

This should bring you to the belowpage where you can select your printer.

Follow the rest of the wizard trough to completion.

Thanks for the reply, Iftibashir. I had gone through those exact steps, but was never shown the page to add more printers (I was starting to feel stupid after about the 5th attempt).

I found a useful suggestion on Reddit, which ultimately fixed the problem. They said that it was likely a corrupted configuration file. Solution was to uninstall Prusa Slicer, then be sure to delete a folder in the \user\AppData\roaming\ directory, then reinstall Slicer. After that, it worked as expected.

This is where I found my answer to the same problem. Once the correct folders were deleted I was able to see the printer choices in the config. two hours in the chat with tech support, they couldn't even come up with this solution.  Problem solved, thank you Pyro-Mick

Thank you.  Was having the same issue for some reason. This worked for me.
