weird blob issue/ inconsistent extrusion?

I don't know how to title this correctly, but after a few weeks printing with PETG my MK4S has some problems extruding (creating blobs in the print)/ sticking to the print bed but only mainly with the "Makita blue" PETG.

  • I have just started with 3D-printing so my knowledge is limited. And before I give up I wanted to ask you guys on what the issue could be.

First layer issues: As said, only one particular filament and only on specific places on the part. (Sharp corners) After I washed it with isopropanol and dish soap there was only a slight improvement but it didn't solve it.

Incorrect extrusions/ blobs:

I am completely puzzled about this why this could be. So far I

- adjusted the "Filament screws"

- made sure the gears were running smoothly and are clean of debris (no clicking)

- the Filament is not wet

- Also checked the mechanical parts on the printer (X and y-axis along with their relevant fasteners)

- changed and cleaned the nozzle

That is everything I did as of now. Should I just rebuild it or try for a refund? Honestly I don't know and a little sad about it (considering it is a Prusa machine).

RE:

With those long straight walls and thin extended profile at the top, this looks like a perfect place for some nice big helper disks at the corners.  That would help with the adhesion.  If you can keep the print down, the blob problem might solve itself also.

Regarding the seeming overextension in the initial solid layers that's not accounted for by the warping, you can try raising the Z-height by a touch immediately upon starting a print.  You do this by long pressing the knob until the Z-height adjustment comes into the screen.  Obviously not too much because you are already struggling with adhesion.  I also get a bit of buildup when printing PETG with large flat surfaces or solid infill.  The blobs always resolve very quickly once the print transitions to infill, especially with gyroid, which I prefer.  If your Z height is too low, the build up that occurs on the first layer will continue to grow until you get to infill, which might become large enough to drop off and cause a crash before it resolves.  If raising  initial Z height helps, at least you'll have identified a cause, and you can go from there.

RE: weird blob issue/ inconsistent extrusion?

Im having the same I did the upgrade from mk3s to mk4s not cheap but anyways for the fun of it, I did few prints all good, after the latest update everything is terrible, makes no sense.

Pla prints horrible and when I purge is like a huge noodle coming out its way to thick, and petg comes out like its burned full of blops. I did order a new nozle and I hope it fixes, but its weird I havent used the machine that much to change the nozzle already.

I canceled the core one kit and got a bambu, I'm really tired there is almost no documentation for the mk4s. The stringing its just terrible and I use generic PETG in the slicer I did everything from drying to everything. Gave the same filament to a friend with a bambu A1 and came perfect. Its really frustrating.
