MK4S + MMU3 - PETG object with PETG support material and PLA Support Interface Layer

Is there a document or message thread somewhere that goes into detail on how to set up PrusaSlicer to use PETG supports but use PLA as the interface layer on a PETG object, using the MMU3?  I feel that this process would require the use of the WIPE TOWER, but I couldn't figure out how to configure the extruders AND have the wipe tower enabled.  As far as wipe towers go though, wouldn't it be logical to need TWO wipe towers since PETG and PLA don't bond?  It seems to me that without separate towers (or at least isolated sections of the tower) it would end up in a mess and most likely cause layer shifts.

I tried my hand at configuration of PETG and PLA with the wipe tower disabled but the results was a pile of spaghetti.

I have tried looking for the answer to this but the search utility is less than ideal and was unable to find a solution.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Just try to use the "0.20mm Soluble Interface" Print setting with wipe tower enabled (print settings -> Multiple Extruders). Set also here Support material/raft interface extruder to the (in your case) PLA slot of the MMU.
On the wipe tower the PLA -> PETG will also not bond, but good enough to not get loose.
And increase the purging volumens for your first try by at least 100%.
A good guide can be found also here:

So do you typically "lie" to the printer and set the interface extruder material to PETG (like the object), or do you set it to PLA? It seems that I have run into an impass with not being able to enable the wipe tower if I set the proper material types.

No, I set it to the material loaded in that slot of the MMU - in your example it would be PLA. Wipe Tower can be enabled anyways. Do you get an error message when trying to enable it?
