Making the big leap

I'm a hobbyist and have had a Prusa MK2S/MMU1 (2017) as my only printer. Yeah. That's right...a dinosaur... back when you printed right on the heat bed.

As a testament to Prusa quality, it's only recently that I've had to consider buying a new printer. Since I'm not made of money, I've been watching without buying as Prusa released the MK3 series and Mk4.

Finally, I couldn't hold out anymore when I saw the MK4S was released. After a lot of research into alternatives, (and my wife's blessing), I've sent in my MK4S/MMU3 kit order.

I'm happy to pay the premium for Prusa quality since my MK2 was so good to me... may it rest in peace. Now I'm eagerly waiting to build my MK4S and MMU3 to take advantage of the enhancements made over the last 7 years!

My Mk2 MMU1 is still in service too! 🙂

I also have a mk3S and a Mk3.9 with MMU3...

Good luck and best wishes.

Joan

Thanks, Joan!

After several years, my MK2S started having uneven heatbed temperature, as well as filament feeding issues that I could never quite figure out. I'm really looking forward removable sheets, load cell (no PINDA), filament sensor, and a lot of other things that have changed since MK2S.
