Layer Shift

I'm a newb and not sure what's going on here. It's a layer shift happening at the same height. This is the second print. The printer is only a month old. I did read somewhere that it could be the USB drive so I changed it to a 16GB Sandisk drive.

RE: Layer Shift

The print itself looks fairly clean and there are none of the common signs of poor maintenance 'though a month is about right for the first session: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/regular-printer-maintenance-mk4_419000

You have chosen organic supports, unless there are complex shapes at the top of this build it is a poor choice and could be allowing too much movement thereby risking head crashes which can cause layer shifts.

Ordinarily organic supports are best for complex curves - usually figurines and miniatures, snug supports for practical parts and grid supports for tall ones.

Your print is one for which I would usually consider grid support to be appropriate although if I expected to print several I might choose to design my own custom supports in the CAD to reduce filament waste.

This has nothing to do with your USB drive but a second one makes sense allowing you to prepare prints on one while printing from the other.

Cheerio,
