Is camera interface in the future?

I’m loving the MK4s and Prusa Connect’s clean interface—but what’s the story with the ‘Camera’ section that seems to lead nowhere? With USB-C on the back and a UI that hints at native cam support, it’s frustrating that we still need a whole Pi setup for basic visual monitoring. Is native support on the roadmap, or is this just a placeholder forever?  Or, am I missing something?

The usb-c in the back is apparently for the other direction, where the printer is the device, rather than for connecting a device...

I know - it just seems surprising that with all the great improvements from MK3 to MK4, they didn't add that capability.  And with "Prusa Connect" having a section to add a camera, gives the false impression of easy connect ability.  Do you know of a good reasonably priced camera option?  Now I am using a Ring Stick which works well to remotely see if the printing is looking good, but it would be nicer to do like on my MK3 and a Raspberry Pi taking an image on Z shifts only.

Octoprint can work MK4.

In Prusa connect you can integrate external camera not connected to the printer, iirc. For example the Buddy one...

Personally, I didn't do any of those, I want to get esp-cam going, and potentially hook it to spaghetti monster detection.
