Instructions for MK3S to MK4S upgrade availabiity

Hello,

when can we expect instruction for upgrade from KM3S to MK4S? I'm interested to check upgrade complexity upfront.

Thanks and regards

D

I felt the same way. I didn't expect them to post until shipping started (Sept 9) but they started early and the instructions are up.

Doesn't look too bad, but the lead time on the kit is now 13-14 WEEKS. I just pulled the trigger on my own kit, which put it early December. Hurry up if you want it before the end of year celebrations.

RE: Instructions for MK3S to MK4S upgrade availabiity

I think the latest lead time is 4-5 weeks.  I ordered mine Aug 14, checked on Sep 12 and it showed 13 weeks.  Got a shipping notification on 15 Sep, arrived on my doorstep in the USA on 19 Sep and did the upgrade today.  I worked slowly and it took me about 5 hours.  The instructions are well organized and even the nextruder section was not difficult although it was stated as difficult.  I did have the experience from building the mk4 kit which helped tremendously.

The only blip in the upgrade instructions was with Chapter 4, Upgrading the Nextruder, Step 32 Mounting the Print Fan Blower Assembly.  The preparing the parts for this step shows 5 X M3nS nuts required but you are never told where or how to install them. Pretty obvious when the screws do not tighten though.  The Fan shroud nut was easy and identical to many others on the kit assembly.  The 4 for the fan case for the fan bracket are a good friction fit, but are not installed like any other nut in the kit.  Really a minor issue, just found it surprising given the detail for nut installation for the kit.

RE: Instructions for MK3S to MK4S upgrade availabiity

just got my upgrade kit to go from my mk3s to the mk4s. is there supposed to be petg filament in the kit to print the parts i need to print? and if i am supposed to print some parts, which? the documentation i have gone over doesn't seem to list what parts i will need to print myself and there were no sheets in the mk4s upgrade kit ( like with my mk3 to mk3s upgrade) that says what parts i need to print beforehand. just emailed support for their opinion as well.

initial response from support is that for this kit all parts are supplied and i shouldn't have to print anything. i am going to go thru the entire kit this evening and attempt to reconcile that assertion before i touch my mk3s.

Give my install guide a watch through - particularly the Nextruder assembly. I know its the full kit build but it will give you some ideas of how to construct some parts of the upgrade kit too........

updated response from support is the kit should have all the printed parts in it and that the upgrade kit page will be updated to not say it requires parts to be printed
