extruder assembly translation axis 'squeak'

My Mk4 (kit) has developed an intermittent 'squeak' or 'squeal' when it does a rapid translation to the right side.  I rubbed on a bit of the Prusa lubricant that came with the kit, but that hasn't stopped the 'squeak/squeal'.  Any thoughts?

TIA,

Frank

I've lubed (and re-lubed) both the extruder and print-bed rails, and although the 'squeak' is significantly reduced (both in frequency and in volume), it's still there.  Any other thoughts on this?

Check in the cable loom on the back of the extruder to make sure that the stiffening nylon filament is properly attached to the back of the extruder. I remember recently seeing on another thread someone who diagnosed their squeaking extruder to that nylon filament not being attached to the back of the extruder properly and twisting/moving during extruder movement. (Check the MK4S kit assembly instructions for how the nylon filament should be attached to the extruder to figure out how to check it. It'll be in the extruder assembly steps, I think.)

That might or might not be your issue. Worth a look.

Hey, thanks for the tip.  I did check the umbilical, and it appears to be solidly attached to the extruder assembly.  Interesting that you brought this up, as one of the things I noticed between the MK3S kit I built and the MK4 was that the umbilical on the MK4 had been redesigned specifically to make this connection more robust - it is MUCH better done than the one for the MK3.
