Expanded Filament Library

One of my only complaints about Prusa is the lack of PETG, PCTG, and TPU filaments in the slicer library.  Does anyone know of a way to import filament profiles for these filaments and commonly found in the US or found on Amazon US?  Examples might include Overture PETG, Overture TPU, Sunlu PETG, eSUN PETG, eSUN TPU, Polymaker PETG, Essentium PCTG, Hatchbox PETG, Polymaker TPU, etc...  Pretty much any manufacturers filament that isn't PLA.  Templates for differing hardness TPUs would be very helpful.  Many thanks!

RE: Expanded Filament Library

Meh, start with the Prusament setting for PETG, I use it almost exclusively without issue, except for Polymaker.  It doesn't like to print fast so you need to reduce the volumetric flow rate

TPU your kinda on your own.  They vary so much mfg to mfg.  I've printed a few different brands and I've had to tweak them all. There are a few TPU profiles that you can start with and tweak from there.  I've found that with a direct drive extruder don't get crazy with retraction regardless of what you read on the Internet.  The TPU acts like a spring inside the extruder and it leads to all kinds of issues.  Ive found that actually using a PETG profile with lower temps and reduced volumetric flow rate works good as well.  Just depends on the brand and hardness of the TPU.

I'm surprised Prusa has as many profiles as they do being that they are a filament maker themselves.  What's the motivation to spend time, money, and effort trying to create profiles for other people's filament?

I'm willing to bet Prusa has more available filament profiles than any other 3d printer manufacturer.
