    • Fixed chamber fans showing "Auto" instead of "Disabled" when not in use [C1, C1+, C1L]

This beta release introduces firmware 6.5.3 for the Prusa CORE One L, CORE One, MK4S, MK4, MK3.9S, MK3.9, MK3.5S, and MK3.5.

For MK4S, MK4, MK3.9S, MK3.9, MK3.5S and MK3.5, this is the first 6.5.x release, meaning all features and improvements from firmware 6.5.0, 6.5.1, and 6.5.2 are also included.

MMU3 owners please note: you need to upgrade the firmware in your MMU3 unit to version 3.0.4 (https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-MMU/releases/tag/v3.0.4&sa=D&source=docs&ust=1773131390056718&usg=AOvVaw1-toj-3WO51cdOwPWjwVd X" rel="nofollow">download link).

Bed LED progress indicator [C1L]

The CORE One L bed LED indicator now shows the progress of your print, starting from the left and gradually changing from white to blue.

Tuned parking position during purging [C1, C1+, C1L]

The parking position on CORE One and CORE One L has been adjusted so that purged filament flows unobstructed to the bottom, reducing potential debris on the print bed.

Vent grille linked to filament preset [C1+, C1L]

The vent grille now automatically opens or closes based on the target chamber temperature set in the active filament preset. This ensures optimal thermal conditions during printing.

Preload all MMU slots at once [MMU]

The new menu item Filament MMU - Preload All now asks for the filament type only once and applies it to all slots. This is handy when you want to load, for example, five PLA filaments.

Bootloader update

The bootloader has been updated to version 2.6.0. This creates the necessary foundation for the upcoming INDX upgrade.

Fixed input shaper axis assignment on CoreXY printers

The input shaper X and Y axis parameters were swapped on CoreXY printers, meaning the shaper configured for X was actually applied to Y, and vice versa. This also prevented users from disabling input shaping on only one axis. Both issues are now resolved.

Fixed layer shifts during high-speed curved moves

Layer shifts could occur during high-speed printing with curved moves. The motion system has been improved to address the issue.

Note: Please be aware that not all layer shifts have been caused by this issue.

Did the “stuck at purging/parking” issue get addressed?  I don’t see any mention of it.

I guess I should have said “stuck at reloading”

It probably won't be a bug in the printer's FW or MMU. I would rather look for a bug in the FW of the person sitting in front of the printer! All of you who keep complaining about bugs in FW should realize that the printers were manufactured in the tens of thousands, and they work without any problems. It's all about careful adjustment of both the printer and the MMU unit! And that careful adjustment doesn't just mean "setting it up somehow" but you also have to spend some time on it. And most importantly, when setting it up, think about what you're doing!

Are you even aware of the issue I am referring to?  It's a known issue.  Maybe your comment was intended to be sarcasm, but mine was serious.

This one here? https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues/5088
There's no mention in the Github case about this being addressed in the new FW.

That's very interesting, isn't it? My MK4S + MMU3 setup works absolutely reliably without any complaints about the FW. With this bug, you need to check both sensors on the MMU (FINDA) and the status of the sensor on the Nextruder head (you can see their status on the lower status line on the display). And what is important: forget about tightening the screw pressure on the Nextruder according to the instructions (aligning the ends of the screws with the edge of the hole in the plastic part of the lock nut). Loosen the screws completely, and then gradually tighten them, but only so that the extruder gear securely captures the filament and the filament cannot be pulled back. No more! Next, focus on tightening the screws with springs on the upper part with the pressure roller on the MMU. Again, forget about the recommendations on the position of the screw heads of this part. Manually insert all the filaments into the MMU in the correct position with the pressure roller folded down. Then place the part with the roller on the filaments, and secure with the pressure screws. And again, do not tighten too much! Just a few turns (2, max 3) are enough for the screws to be caught in the nuts. If you tighten this too much, there is a risk that the filament will bend and hit the edge of the hole in the selector when trying to insert it into the nozzle. And here too, the more accurately you calibrate the sensors (this applies mainly to FINDA on the MMU), the more reliably the entire assembly will work. Believe me, I had similar problems at the beginning, but careful adjustment of the entire "machinery" solved them for me. And for heaven's sake, turn off that stupid "Filament jamming monitoring" function. The function apparently came about by accident as a by-product of FW development and is completely useless and, in my opinion, causes a lot of false alarms. Maybe it would be useful if this function could be calibrated in some way, which it currently is not. All you have to do is increase the force when pushing the filament into the nozzle a little and it's bad. If it really jams, there's nothing you can do about it and the print is damaged or lost anyway.

RE: 6.5.3-beta Firmware for Prusa MK4S

I’m hopeful, since it coincides with a MMU firmware update as well.  My MK4S/MMU3 got bricked by version 6.4.0.  I reverted to 6.2.6 and it ran fine.  I went through several iterations of this.  Every time I tried running 6.4.0 it would get stuck with a “parking” error.  The finda and pinda were fine.  Revert to 6.2.6 and it would run fine.  That went on for months, and is the primary reason I now own a Bambu P2S.  Bambu has their own issues, but it’s been a great printer, so far.

RE:

I may have spoken too soon.  There is no MMU version 3.0.4 posted, yet, and, as usual, Jan’s link is broken.  Presumably, it will show up soon.

It is unclear whether 3.0.4 is required (or compatible) for use with a MK4S, as the release notes say 3.0.4 is required for use with the CoreOne but don’t mention other printers.

.sigh.

RE: 6.5.3-beta Firmware for Prusa MK4S

The only problem I had with FW 6.4.0 was quite interesting. After installing it, I was surprised that after warming up and measuring the board, when the printing was supposed to start, the MMU only ejected the filament into FINDA and pulled it back. And all 5 slots on the MMU worked. Even updating the MMU FW to V.3.0.3 did not help. After all, this FW had already been uploaded to the MMU before. Only after a long investigation accompanied by swearing, I found the cause: I don't know how it's possible, but the sensor on the Nextruder was turned off, or rather it was set as undefined (absent)! Rewriting it in the printer menu to the MMU type and subsequent recalibration solved the problem. And since then, the printer and MMU have been running without a single error! Oh, and you can find the MMU FW 3.0.4 here: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-MMU/releases/tag/v3.0.4
