MK4S Print with Organic Supports produces Steps instead of smooth surface
I have only been printing for a couple months, so clearly not expert in any of this...so looking for some help from the Community.
I am attaching a Model from Fusion 360 that requires a lot of supports. I am using the Organic supports for this print.
I am also attaching a screenshot of the slicer output and a picture of the resulting print.
Is there any way to get a smooth surface on the front part of the print instead of the many steps from front to back?
I realize that this is a very shallow angle of the front panel such that we may be seeing the discrete steps of layer thicknesses.
I have tried rotating the model so that the front face is roughly parallel to the platter, but the step persist, just get wider so fewer of them.
I wasn't sure what I need to provide in terms of setting and the best format to include those.

What you see are the layer step lines, as you suspect, which is why they get wider when you try to adjust closer to parallel. I would take the entire model and rotate it around X or Y axis so that the layer lines are oriented completely differently. With some modeled supports, you should be able to print this part at a 45 degree angle. See Slant3d's YouTube videos about printing boxes diagonally.
I've tested this, and it's not terribly hard to do, and results in a box that (although slower because of the overhangs) prints with well hidden layer lines. In addition to the above, you could add a touch of fuzzy skin (as he also does in the video) to further obscure the lines.

Thanks very much I will give it a try.

I simply placed the model on its side and it printed perfectly smooth on all sides. Thanks very much.

I'm glad to hear that you found success in reorienting it. 👍 Something to consider, which may not matter much to you, but one of the advantages of printing near a 45 deg angle is the reduction in support material, since most of the parts (in a simple box design at least) won't require support.
