Initial bed leveling probe is longer working

I just upgraded MK4 to MK4S, and reloaded the firmware, and am now getting a poor base layer in some sections of the bed.  I tried various z offsets to no avail.  I now see that the bed leveling matrix "survey" is no longer being conducted, and am suspicious that that may the the root cause.  The nozzle cleaning action is also no  longer there.  What is new is that the nozzle conducts a perimeter run around the boundary of the print, presumably to also be a cleaning function?  I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.  Is there now a new "smart" process where leveling isn't needed?  Is there a on/off switch somewhere that I missed?  Or more likely I screwed something up.  I initially used 6.1.3 firmware, but the chat person suggested 6.2 alpha, but the same problem persists.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Also, the message for remaining time and time of completion is only showing N/A.  Did the algorithm change to necessarily stop reporting this?  or does it some reason no longer have the information needed to calculate these times?  Any thoughts on restoring that feature would be appreciated.

Finally, (sorry if this is a rant)... would it be safe to revert back to prior firmware with the MK4S?
