Excessive layer lines?
I have about 15 hours on my new MK4S. im wondering if i need to adjust sonething…
I’m getting these excessive (I think) horizontal layer lines that line up with an interior feature. There’s a floor inside this pot at the same layer as the dramatic lines on the outside. Is there something I need to check to tone these down?
Side note: The start/stop vertical line seems quite dramatic as well….Is this normal?
Thanks for any feedback!
RE: Excessive layer lines?
Horizontal lines are "the bulge", a well-known phenomenon, with more than 30 pages of discussion in this forum.
There are several threads you might want to look through. TL;DR: Many suggestions, no universally applicable solution.

The horizontal line is the seam, where the hotend moved from one layer to the next. This doesn't look too bad. On objects with edges, the slicer will hide the seam in corners, on round objects that's not possible. There are several options to modify where it goes but you can't get rid of it completely unless you have an object topology that allows you to print the object in vase mode. The best solution to get rid of the seam used to be sanding the object after printing.
In newer versions of the slicer, Prusa has implemented what's called scarf seams (see, e.g., https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/prusaslicer/prusaslicer-2-9-0-alpha1-how-to-use-scarf-seam/ ). It's basically a cheat, which may or may not work well for you so it's worth exploring. I for one have not been overly impressed so far but it may work in your case.
