Can't get X-belt into X-carriage

While I've been enjoying building the printer I might unfortunately have come across a bad printed part. In the Chapter 3 Step 29 page I'm supposed to insert the X-belt into the X-carriage but after trying for 3 days for roughly an hour and a half total and comparing pictures to my own part I don't think it's gonna fit. I can get the other end in no problem but not the first end. Is there anything I can do besides buying a replacement along with the nuts that I can't get out?

It is a very tight fit.  The picture looks like there might be some flash in the way.  I would take a sharp knife and run along the channel and see if it hangs up along the way.  That would be were your flash is.  I would then carefully scrape in that area to remove the flash.  Make sure the groves of the belt line up with the groves in the part.  Only thing I could suggest.

Thanks a lot I'll try that for awhile and see what happens.

Update:So I did what you said. I took a box cutter knife and cut/shave the groove as carefully as possible and got a better result but still no luck so I left the box cutter blade in the groove for about an hour and then change the blade and cut shave some more and I got what I hope is a good enough result compared to the other groove which I had no problem. based on the pictures would you say it's good enough?
