4->4S upgrade didn't increase speed of old projects.
  • I started with an MK4+MMU3 and upgraded with the 4S kit. I kept the idler arm from the MMU3 and using the high flow nozzle/hot head that came with the 4S kit. The 14 minute Benchy gcode I downloaded from Printables ran fast. But when I re-slice my older items they don't show any speed benefits. I have the firmware and software updated, the MK4S with MMU selected in Slicer, but I don't notice any increase in speed. What am I missing?

The speed benefits come from printing thicker layers faster.  In the slicer for the 4S you should see standard options to print thicker layers.

The fan improvement is for better bridging and overhang performance, plus to help cool thicker layers at higher speeds.

I found the same issue, after upgrading to MK4S with high-speed nozzle, my flow of the same prusament (orange PLA) is the same, around 20mm3/s and then printer stops on both MK4 and MK4S.

I also am wondering about CHT nozzle, in description of MK4S upgrade we can find: "the new high-flow nozzle delivers between 50 to 114% improved flow rate depending on the material and nozzle diameter." So I did max flow rate test from Orca Slicer on MK4 before the upgrade and after the upgrade to MK4S from 10mm3/s to 40mm3/s. Mk4 stopped at 18mm3/s and MK4S stopped at 20mm3/s, same filament was used Prusament PLA Orange. So it is slightly 11% better but it is far away from 50 to 114%. What am I missing?

RE: 4->4S upgrade didn't increase speed of old projects.

So I've installed my upgrade over the weekend and my print times have reduced by 15% on the parts that I have resliced. I print mostly PETG and have not redone any PLA files yet.

You have to make sure that you updated everything to the HF nozzles.  This includes the print settings and the filament profile.
