Trouble printing after nozzle replacement
Hello,
Long time printer here, started with an Mk3 and upgraded it to the Mk3S. I now have the Mk4 as well and it was working amazing since I got it. About a month ago, I had some filament that went bad and clogged the nozzle in the metal tube. This ended up destroying the whole nozzle so I ordered 2 new nozzles, a new heater, a new thermistor, and a new heaterblock so I could have a full backup for next time. So after the parts came in, I assembled them and installed. I followed the directions but the new nozzle tube would not go all the way up so that there was a 2mm gap. That being said, I fired it up and printed several items. Now I am having a strange issue.
The issue now is that the nozzle appears to be holding remnants of the previous filament somewhere and later depositing it into the print as a blob. That blob then gets caught on the moving extruder and ends up pulling up the print. If that wasn't enough, there are areas on the bed that simply don't seem to be adhering properly. They then also get caught by the extruder and pulled up as well. I've tried multiple filaments and multiple print files with the same issues.
The attached photo is a file that I have printed successfully before. I would appreciate any help you may have to offer as it is frustrating to have such a great machine perform so poorly.
Thank you,
RE: Trouble printing after nozzle replacement
This morning I installed another new nozzle in order to see if something else may be causing the issue. After installing the new nozzle, I was able to verify the 2mm gap I previously believed wasn't met. This has not made a difference and the photo below shows the current issues. Thanks again for any input you may have.
RE: Trouble printing after nozzle replacement
Well it appears my multiple filament rolls were not in the best of shape. I bought a new roll of PLA and it printed flawlessly. I then bought a filament dryer and dried a previous filament that was failing. After drying for 6 hours, it printed just fine, not as good as new, but 90%. I'll test the other ones above after I have dried them as well.
