Help with X-axis skipping on large prints

I have been trying to print the parts to make a Lack Enclosure Ver 2 and I have had consistent problems with it doing one big x-slip per part.  I have gone through 2 kg of Prusament PETG and nearly every part has had to be thrown into the garbage because it would either have a big x-axis slip in the beginning or more likely with about 30 mins left on a 9 hour print.  I have tightened the heck out of the belt.  I mean it is really tight, and I make sure it is really tight every time I start the print.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Is there any way I can tighten the belt even more or will that even help?  I refuse to even try printing another part until I can find some solution because I really can not afford to be throwing away 2kg of Prusament PETG.

If the belt is as tight as you imply you could have overtightened it. It won't be causing the problems you describe but will reduce the life of various parts.

Is it happening at the same height every time? Can you post photos and maybe the 3mf file?

Suspect overheating of the X stepper. 

Swap  X to Y axis steppers. you may need to recalibrate.

See what results you get.

Are your steppers 0.9 pulse or 1.8 per step ?

I still think 0.9 pulse per step for any belt pulley driven devise is a bit of a sales kidology.

I run a Nema 23 1.8 pulse per step on a 60 mm pulley to pulley belt driving a  150 mm dia mill indexing head and I can be within 

0.2 degree per 360 degree revolution.

Can anybody physically prove to me that a Nema 17  0.9 pulse has a place in the basically 3D throwing melted plastic at a heated bed.

Provided you get the calibration settings X Y Z E correct and prove repeatability then a 1.8 pulse will do the same.

Personally I think the smaller the pulse setting then the stepper will produce more heat i operation, again depending on the driver settings.

Are the Prusa steppers produced locally in Prague or ROC .I do not know of any EU nema 17 manufacturer.
