First Layer Issue

I got my mk4, I've been Printing With It solid for over a week now. But recently I have had this first layer Extrusion issue, it looks like it's under extruded, or just not pushed down to the bed all of the way. I'm using the stock filament spool holder, and my prints are starting to break away from the bed. I've tried ipa, and even steel wool too refresh the sheet adhesion. Any suggestions? Or calibrations I can try

If I am reading correctly and understanding your issue, those areas look like the base for supports. In PusaSlicer, Print Settings / Support Material, there's a line for "First Layer Density", that probably shows 80%. Try putting it at 100%.

If it's the other parts, then yeah, all the solutions above.

RE:

Hi,

recently i have the same problem.

Chat with prusa support: it was a very little tip old filament on my nozzle. Completly cleaning my nozzle solved the problem and the perfekt first layer was back.

Clean your sheet with Dish Cleaner to a kitchen sponge and lukewarm water. Then with isopropanol.

Usually helps and is the first thing I do when I have problems with the 1 layer.

I'm very confident that this isn't a bed adhesion issue, the nozzle doesn't look like it's lowering into the bed enough

It was the same for me and I didn't really believe it either. But then again perfectly. Is my first action. Always start with the simplest.

Ok tried all of the basic cleaning measures and still have inconsistent Extrusion on the first layer. I tried to recalibrate the load cell and mesh bed leveling 😔

Make sure to pull off any ooze before it does initial z probing. If there is any filament ooze it messes up first layer height most of the time, nozzle cleaning isnt enough

First I would check if the screws holding the heatbreak are tight. Then definitely a cold pull to clean the nozzle.

Or look at this guide.

But this setting is only for support material. Not for the entire first layer.

In addition, the printer should work well without such crutches.

Agreed... however if you see the part printed above it, that is the Brim of the model. this prints fine

The supports are also Organic, so possibly need some tweaking still

RE: First Layer Issue

I'm not sure this is a "crutch" per se... if your responding to the first layer density needing to be 100%. I am sure Prusa sets it lower because you're not worried about the supports looking good on the bottom, and they only need enough material to stick. I found them easier to remove from the sheet if I put it at 100%, at 80% with PETG on textured sheet, it was a bit of a hassle.
