Changing filament type PETG to PLA. Best approach
Hi
I plan to buy a MK4 that I want to replace two old printers.
One with only PLA and one with only PETG. Going from PLA to PETG on the same printer is undramatic.
But from PETG to PLA is tricky due to different melting points.
Is there any good method to clean PETG hot end before printing PLA or other filament for that matter?
I have always had a dedicated printer for each filament type.
Any hints/approach are most welcome.

Repeat the purging several times when you change the type and perhaps print a small test object that is not important before the next important part.

If I understand it right: I purge the printer with PLA (after a PETG job) att PETG temperatur (260 degrees) in order to get rid of all PETG.
Then I conduct a test prints with PLA at PLA temperatur (210 degrees give or take)

When changing from a higher melting temperature filament to a lower one, change at the higher temperature and purge the lower temperature filament at the higher temperature. This should clear out the old filament OK, if not done this way partial clogs are common.

As diem said. Or run a short length of cleaning filament through.

I run PLA, ABS, and PETg in the Prusa (and the Ultimaker) regularly and ASA and PC Blend occasionally.
I will often swap between PLA/ABS/PETg and I've never had issues. The only annoyance is the color, and often times when going from something like black to something like white it takes 3-4 'is the color correct?' cycles for it to be really truly correct.
I will usually swap at the temperature of the higher temp filament, but sometimes space it off.
The one time I had an issue with a higher temp filament is when I did some PC Blend prints and let the PC Blend sit in the machine overnight. I had to REALLY heat it up in order to purge the PC Blend out. Now when I do PC Blend printing I will purge it with ABS after the last PC Blend print.
